If many fans are like me, they watch the games on line. Yes, attendance has been sparse but the fact that the game experience is geared to the young crowd with the noisy bands between periods and electronic programs the fairly substantial price hike in ticket priced the silver hairs—-me included have not gone to nearly as many games this season which is sad because I believe the future of the team looks bright .

Watching a lot of WK games lately and it is apparent to me that this team can play very well for parts of a game but not for a full 60:minutes. They hung with MJ,WPG and Saskatoon for awhile in their games but just not good enough to beat them. Really in tough to make the playoffs as we still have 4 games against WPG where we will likely go 0-10 against them. Will have a tough time beating MJ or Saskatoon going forward also, Probably into next year country.
Very disappointing result Sunday against Saskatoon. Leading 2-0 with 2 minutes left in the 2nd period, give up a late goal and 3 unanswered goals in the 3rd period is inexcusable. You could really sense MM ‘s disappointment in the post game interview. This team seems to lose focus in the third period continually this season. Getting out hustled, losing puck battles, ghastly turnovers seems to happen too often.I am sure MM is forming ideas on what this team needs going forward and which players should be here and which should not. My assessment going forward is 1. The goaltending is solid with Bjarnson and Jones with Eskit also in the picture meaning a possible trade here. 2. The defence is mostly set as they may lose only one of their 2 19 yr olds depending on needs of the team next year. The rest of the d men are back maybe. 3. Forwards lose our two 20’s but hopefully Hyland is back as an OA as he would be one of the best in the league if he returns. Not sure about Pasternak as an OA—-not good enough I think. The rest of the forwards except Polshakov who is not worth 2 spots are back BUT we need to see marked improvement from a number of them. Not sure all of the possibles will be back. The team needs to improve the quality of their import players. When you look around the league there are some very good imports who are huge contributors to their teams while the WK imports are ordinary at best. This needs to improve.4. Wonder if MM remains coach or they find one as Murray concentrated on the GM duties.

Well, it looks like it's going to be a long off season for this team yet again. I just can't put my finger on what is the problem. Lack of talent or what. They can't score. It's frustrating to watch. Marty M has a lot of work to do to turn this around this off season. Do you blow it up and go young or maybe add this summer and hope its better. Whats everybodys thoughts.

The problem to me is a lack of talent. If you look back at their past few drafts other than the 2021 and possibly the 2022 drafts the team had more misses than hits with their picks. The 2019 draft was a disaster with 3 first rounders and only real good one, one questionable one (Roeresma) one complete strike out (Zimmer). The 2020 draft was also very poor—-Mantei is not a first round talent and the 2nd pick that year Johnson and Trembecky also a 3rd rounder I believe are not even on the team anymore. Add to this is some very underwhelming imports like Polshakov and even Malyavin and what you have is a team that is going to struggle at least offensively. Other than Danielson,Hyland and Ritchie there are no scorers on this team.
Great effort tonight in SC winning 3-1. Not sure why this team plays better on the road than at home.

Looks like the playoffs are a pipe dream for the WK. PA and SC are playing very well, we are not and the team’s schedule is daunting to say the least. Oh well, better draft pick I guess. Not sure what direction MM will go in the off season. Hope some of the young guys get better or go young and build for the following years. A bit of a dilemma to be sure.

Another great effort on the road beating MJ a more talented team without Bjarnson,Hyland,Pasternak and Henry in our lineup. Strange team playing well on the road but not at home. Tough to explain. Schedule still against the team making the playoffs but good to see them playing hard. Roeresma hard player to figure. Looks like a world beater occasionally and a no show the majority of his games. Certainly has the speed to compete but is not hard enough on the puck.Thought Turner and Wilson played very well last night.

I wonder why we cannot draft an impact import like the ones Regina, Saskatoon, Vancouver etc. have. Our 2 imports are a long way from the quality of the teams mentioned. That is one of the reasons why the WK have struggled this season.

Looks like next year country for the WK. So, let’s look at the possible lineup for next year. Goalies: Bjarnson obviously along with Eskit. Trade Jones for a scorer. Defence: all 8 could return but one would think the team will choose one of Sadra-Kang or Hammet as an OAer leaving 7. Training camp should provide number 8 d-man. Up front Danielson and Hyland (OA), top this list. Others are Hadland, McQueen,Roeresma,Groening,Flamand, Thornton?, Wilson, Henry, Pasternak(OA), Baumuller, Klippenstein

3 wins in a row. Good on the guys to make a push for the playoffs. Play in WPG tomorrow. Tall order winning that game. Looks like the team has a real good prospect in Baumuller. Looked very comfortable playing tonight. Great shot.

WK getting taken out behind the wood shed and beaten by the Pats tonight. 1st period looked like a big mis-match. 3-0 Pats after 1 period. Where are Hyland and McQueen?
