BLAZERS REDUCE ROSTER TO 27 (blazershockey.com)
KAMLOOPS, BC - The Blazers reduced their active roster to 27 players on Sunday, including 2 players still away at NHL camps.
Following Saturday's conclusion of the WHL pre-season, the Blazers reassigned 3 players: F Matt Schmermund (Camrose, AJHL JrA), G Kurt Kramer (Richmond, BC Major Midget), and D Joel Woznikoski (Richmond, PIJHL JrB).
With the moves the Blazers have 2 goaltenders (Dubnyk, Maniago), 9 defensemen (Bartley, Bender, Chapman, Ellerby, Kaliel, Macias, Olson, Tesliuk, Thiessen), and 16 forwards (Chorneyko, Connors, Delaronde, Dowd, Dunstall, Gutierrez, Hayman, Irwin, Jorgensen, Kassian, Kauk, Mason, Nixon, Steinmann, Stretch, Versteeg) on their active roster.
Devan Dubnyk (EDM) and Matt Kassian (MIN) remain at NHL camps as of Sunday morning. Reid Jorgensen (DET), Moises Gutierrez (PIT), and Kris Versteeg (BOS) were reassigned back to Kamloops over the weekend.
