OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced they have signed goaltender Jeff Glass to a three-year entry-level contract. Glass was Ottawa's third-round pick, 89th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Glass, 19, represented his country at the 2005 World Junior Championship in Grand Forks, N.D. With his 5-0-0 record and a 1.40 goals-against-average, he helped Canada win its first gold medal in seven years, beating Russia 6-1 in the final.

The Calgary native had a stellar 2004-05 campaign as he earned many accolades with the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League. He was named CHL goaltender of the year and captured the WHL's Del Wilson Trophy awarded to the top goaltender. He was also named to the WHL West First All-Star Team. Glass currently holds eight Kootenay Ice franchise records for the most games played (143), minutes played (8,206), GAA (2.16), save percentage (0.918), saves (3,296), wins (75), ties (14) and shutouts (17).

In 2003-04, Glass ranked eighth in the WHL during the regular season with in a 2.35 GAA, sixth in wins with 26 and tied for sixth in shutouts with five. He started as backup goaltender in the 2002-03 season but quickly earned the No. 1 job and finished the regular season fourth in the WHL in GAA with 2.45, seventh in save percentage with a 0.909 rating and tied for fourth with four shutouts.
