Default Wheat OUT for PG game Saturday

Just heard Coach K on NS 1380 with the fish...a few interesting points:

    1. Wheat probably shouldn't have played game one on his ankle and most likely will not play tomorrow (Saturday) at least. Possibly even Sunday (I guess that takes care of the Annesley/Kress debate).

    2. Leland is only 17 and it is rare for a 17 year old to be successfull as a #1 in the WHL. He thinks he will be, though. If for some reason after 15 or 20 games the need arises to go out and get a more experienced goalie, that option is open, but not until after they have a good amount of game sunder their belt to fully judge whether he can handle the job.

    3. Mueller will need time to adjust. "I can't wait to see him after 15 or 20 games." was the exact quote.

    Default Forgot one

Forgot one more thing he talked about:
    4. He said he was all for the new rules to help speed up play and help the scoring this season. He says he is frustrated, however, that the WHL is NOT taking on the NHL stance of having the officials call more of the hooking, cross-checking & holding penalties. He says so far he hasn't seen it being called, but he wishes they would.

He should watch what he says, it seems the Dub does not like anyone talking negitively of them. As it was, it seemed we were getting fined alot last year.
