    Default Ice 1 @ Giants 3 - Tues 11

Well finally, it only took 5 years, but we beat the ICE at home. . Vancouver outplayed, outhit and outworked Kootenay in every aspect of the game except for Goaltending. The golatender for Kootenay played very well and actually kept them in the game and gave them a chance to win in the third. Special Teams for the Giants worked tonight and for Kootenay they did not.

    NOTES
Rutherford did not play, game 2 of 5 on his suspension.
Scharff was out with an Ankle injury, the Giants dressed 11 forwards 7 D.
Egner, usually a D man, played Forward looked good out there.
Mahovsky was out of the lineup for the ICE, finishing his suspension.
Shots were 39 to 15 for the Giants.
ICE 0/4 Giants 2/6 on the PP. Giants only allowed 3 shots the radio guys were saying on the PK. Giants are still batting 100% on the PP after 7 games.

    GOALS
    2. VAN Repik, (5) (Bartley, Bliznak), 0:47 (PP) - Repik gets the loose puck at the side of the net with the open cage, and puts it in. No chance for Lazaruk.
    3. KTN Cole, (1) (Negrin, Lee), 1:55 - Cole Blasts a shot from the point Top shelf glove side, Looked like Slade was screened and didnt see it.
    3. VAN Franson, (3) (Repik, Bliznak), 7:55 (PP) - Repik makes a beautiful pass thru the Kootenay Defenders legs to Franson who is at the Slot who roofs it past Lazaruk.
    3. VAN Bartley, (4) , 18:07 - Cole attempts to take a big shot from the point and breaks his stick. Puck dribles to Bartley who is off to the races. Cole manages to play him well, couple other ICE defenders get back, the puck dribbles to Lazaruk who misplays it, puck ends up at the edge of the crease and Bartley collects it and puts it in the back of the net. A bad goal allowed by Lazaruk, but considering how well he played all game hard to be upset with him on that one.

    FISTICUFFS
Lucic vs. Fussi : They are both talking at the Faceoff, and it looks like they are going to go. Faceoff happens nothing happens, they look at each other. Lucic looks like he is going to get into the play, then Fussi said something and Lucic heads right at Fussi. Gloves off Lids on. Lucic handled him easily. Fussi in the end, ends up on the ice turtled, with Lucic standing over him. Quick fight, win LUCIC.

    OFFICIATING
Rehman got the call and he did not do a good job tonight. Missed a lot and I am not sure what he was doing when teams iced the puck, but when a team ices the puck and has 8 skaters on the ice, thats a change, and a penalty. You dont go over and start sending guys back to the bench. Was not happy with his performance at all. Grade C-.

    OVERALL
The Ice got outworked tonight, no doubt about it. The Giants wanted the win more and you could tell. If it wasnt for the excellent play of Lazaruk it could have been 5 or 6 nothing after 2 periods. He was very, very good, except for that 3rd goal.

DUMB CALL OF THE NIGHT AWARD
So many to choose from tonight. I will go with Lazurk 2 min for tripping/ Watt 2 min for diving. It is either a DIVE or it is a TRIP. Make a bloody decision. It cant be both. Gee I hate it when the refs make that penalty/diving call.

    3 Stars
    1. VAN - 26 Michal Repik
    2. VAN - 6 Cody Franson
    3. KTN - 1 Kris Lazaruk

Overall, the Giants outworked the ICE. End of story. Keep up the excellent work guys.
