Americans to Hold MDA Benefit Skills Competition Sunday

Kennewick, WA – The Tri-City Americans will hold the 10th annual Skills Competition benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association in the Three Rivers Coliseum. The doors will open at 12 pm with the competition beginning at 1 pm. Admission is a suggested donation of $5 with all the proceeds going to MDA.
The Americans will be joined in the skills day festivities by the TCAHA Squirt Rep team, coached by former American Gordie Frantti.

The skills include the puck control relay, fastest skater, shot accuracy, hardest shot, breakout drill and the fan favorite showdown shootout.

Fans will have an opportunity to bid in a silent auction for the jerseys worn by the Americans players for the skills day with the proceeds also going to MDA. These uniforms will be available for bidding beginning this Friday night when the Americans host the Seattle Thunderbirds and the archrival Spokane Chiefs Saturday night in the Coliseum. Game time each night is 7:05 pm.

Friday night is Tri-City Herald Family Night presented by KFFX Fox 11 and Beacon Appraisal. Check Friday’s Herald Life section for a money saving coupon that will admit four fans for just $44. Offer is good at the Coliseum box office only. Over 3,000 tickets remain for the game.

Every Saturday night is Clear Channel radio Rock The Rink Night presented by McCurley Integrity Dealerships and Tri-Cities Motor Sales at the Pasco Autoplex. All youth (3-17) and students with valid ASB cards will be admitted for just $9. Three lucky fans 18 and older will get a chance to participate in a puck shoot. The winner will qualify for an opportunity to win a new car from McCurley and Tri-Cities Motor Sales on March 19th. 1,000 tickets remain for Saturday’s tilt.
