Silvertips Continue to Stay Red Hot with 6-Game Win Streak

Everett, WA - The Everett Silvertips continue to stay in the top spot in the US Division with a record of 23-14-1-0 (47 points). The Silvertips are currently on a 6-game winning streak and will start 2006 on the road against the Tri-City Americans in Kennewick, WA on Saturday, January 7 at 7:05 p.m. The Silvertips will return home on Sunday, January 8 against the Kamloops Blazers at the Everett Events Center at 5:05 p.m.

SILVERTIPS LEADING SCORERS
The Silvertips are led in scoring by John Lammers (19 goals, 21 assists) with 40 points. The Langley, BC native leads the hockey club in goals (19) and power play goals (8). Peter Mueller (15 goals, 22 assists) is 2nd on the hockey club in scoring with 37 points. Defenseman Shaun Heshka (8 goals, 25 assists) is 3rd on the team in scoring with 33 points and leads the Silvertips in assists (25). Forward Zach Hamill (8 goals, 13 assists) leads the hockey club in +/- with a +9 rating. Silvertips goaltender Leland Irving has posted 21 wins this season and recorded a 1.97 GAA, .923% SP and 3 Shutouts.

SILVERTIPS POINT STREAKS
Torrie Wheat is currently on a 5-game point streak with a goal and 8 assists in the last five games. While away with Team USA at the World Junior Championships, Peter Mueller when back in the Silvertips lineup currently has a 5-game point streak with 4 goals and 6 assists in his last five games played with the Silvertips. Forward John Lammers is currently on a 3-game point streak with 3 goals and 4 assists in the last three games.

SILVERTIPS AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS
Silvertips netminder Leland Irving is currently tied for 3rd among WHL goaltenders in Wins (21), 4th in GAA (1.97), 3rd in SP (.923%) and tied for 3rd in Shutouts (3). Silvertips first year forward Peter Mueller is currently tied for 1st in WHL Rookie scoring with 37 points while Silvertips defenseman Shaun Heshka is tied for 1st among all WHL defensemen with 33 points.

SILVERTIPS SPECIAL TEAMS
The Silvertips are currently 5th in the WHL on the power play (42 for 217, 19.35%) and 5th in the WHL on the penalty kill (157 for 181, 86.74%).

2006 WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP AND 2006 WORLD UNDER-17 HOCKEY CHALLENGE UPDATE
The Silvertips have 3 players currently playing in International events. Silvertips forward Peter Mueller is playing for Team USA at the 2006 World Junior Championships while Karel Hromas is an assistant captain for the Czech Republic in the same tournament. Silvertips first year defenseman Eric Doyle is in action for Team Pacific at the 2006 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Regina, SK. Currently Peter Mueller has posted 2 goals and 4 assists to help the Americans to the semi-final. Hromas has added a goal and 3 assists in the tournament and will battle in the 5th place game on January 4. Eric Doyle has tallied a goal and 3 assists in 4 games for Team Pacific in the Under-17 tournament. Team Pacific is currently 4-0 and will play in the semi-final on January 3.

WHEAT REACHING A SILVERTIPS MILESTONE
Silvertips captain Torrie Wheat is 3 points away from recording his 100th point as an Everett Silvertip. The Nanaimo, BC native is the Silvertips all time leading scorer with 42 goals and 55 assists in 148 games with the Silvertips.

VERSUS THE TRI-CITY AMERICANS
The Silvertips are 3-1 against the Americans this season and have posted a 1-1 record against the Americans at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, WA. The Silvertips are 10-11-3-1 all time against the Americans and 5-7-0-1 in Tri-City.

VERSUS THE KAMLOOPS BLAZERS
The Silvertips are 1-2 against the Blazers this season and 0-1 against Kamloops at the Everett Events Center. Overall in franchise history, the Silvertips are 4-8 all time against the Kamloops Blazers. The Silvertips are also 2-3 all time against the Blazers at the Everett Events Center.
