Default Blazers Back In Win Column

    Blazers Back In Win Column

Reid Jorgensen scored the winning goal in his first game back from injury as the Blazers held on for a 2-1 win over the Red Deer Rebels on Friday night at Interior Savings Centre.

After a scoreless first period, the Blazers capitalized with 2 goals on three powerplays for a 2-0 lead. TJ Mulock opened the scoring at 3:59 mark with Jorgensen adding his 12th of the season at 14:15 for the two-goal advantage. Joel Eisenkirch picked up assists on both goals with CJ Stretch adding a helper on Mulock's goal.

The Rebels got their only goal on a questionable powerplay when Terrance Delaronde was given a 5-minute "elbowing" major late in period two. Brandon Sutter cashed in on a rebound at 3:22 of period three to cut the Blazer lead to 2-1 but...despite some timely Rebel powerplays...the Blazers held on for the 1-goal win.

Final shots were 27-24 Blazers...with Michael Maniago getting the win and James Reimer taking the loss.

The Blazers were 2-for-7 on the PP and 6-for-7 on the PK

Thats good the Blazers and the City did that for the two. Rockets gave Edler a mp3 player for representing Sweden and gave Comeau a lap top computer.
