Broncos and Blades Complete 4 Player Deal
..
The Swift Current Broncos have completed a deal with the Saskatoon Blades that will see the Broncos receiving defenseman Dane Crowley (18), forward Brandon Tidball (20), and the Blades 6th round pick in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft in exchange for defensemen Michael Hengen (18) and Derek Price (20).

In Crowley, the Broncos receive a 6'2", 210-pound blue liner from Winnipeg, MB. Crowley was in his third season with the Blades and has appeared in 122 career games where he has recorded 17 points (2G; 15A) to go along with 214 penalty minutes.

With the acquisition of Tidball the Broncos are receiving an element of toughness in the 6'1", 212-pound left-winger from Regina, SK. He began his career in the QMJHL as a member of the Quebec Ramparts where he recorded 6 points (4G; 2A) and 218 penalty minutes in 49 games. Tidball joined the Blades at the start of the 2005/06 season and has appeared in 41 games with Saskatoon recording 6 points (3G; 3A). Tidball is 4th in the Western Hockey League with 130 penalty minutes this season.

"We're excited about acquiring both Brandon and Dane," commented Broncos GM/Head Coach Dean Chynoweth. We feel that we needed to make a move like this heading into the 2nd half for our playoff push. We thank Michael and Derek for their time as Broncos and wish them all the best," said Chynoweth.

Tidball and Crowley are both expected to be in the Broncos lineup for Wednesday's game against the Saskatoon Blades.
