Brock Nixon scored twice and Ray Macias added a single...all in a 3-minute-and-15-second span early in the second period...as the Blazers went on to a 3-1 win over the Americans on Tuesday night at Interior Savings Centre.
After a scoreless first period, the Blazers broke it open with the three straight goals...chasing Carey Price. Chet Pickard came on in relief...and was 15-for-15 in the save department in the final 34 minutes.
Ian McDonald, with his 4th shorthanded goal in his last 3 games, broke Michael Maniago's shutout bid with 7:10 to play...but the Ams could get no closer.
Final shots were 28-17 Blazers...Maniago got the win and Price took the loss.
The Blazers were 2-for-8 on the PP and 4-for-4 on the PK.
