Dustin Slade Named the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week

Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Vancouver Giants goaltender Dustin Slade is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week after helping the Giants increase their lead in the BC Division with three wins last week. Slade was also named the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week back on January 4, 2006.
Slade, a 20-year old native of Penticton, British Columbia posted a goals against average of 1.33 and a save percentage of .949 last week. Slade opened the week with an 8-3 victory over the Spokane Chiefs. In this contest the Giants goaltender stopped 27 shots. The Giants then had back to back games with the Seattle Thunderbirds. Slade starred in both wins, allowing only one goal and stopping 48 of the 49 shots he faced. Slade was particularly impressive in the 5-0 shutout win on Friday night Slade is currently third amongst WHL goaltenders with 32 wins this season. His nine shutouts rank him second in the WHL as does his 1.90 goals against average.
Each week during the regular season, the CHL will recognize the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL's top netminder at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season.
