My thoughts on the game tonight is that if the Ice will be successful they will have to play much better and get shots on net. They had a huge win last night and the game could have gone to the Rockets very easy. We need to get in deep and cycle the puck creating scoring chances. The Rockets will come out hard and we can't count on Dakers to save our buts every night. We need to create more offence and limiting there shots and chances. That said if the stars line up and we can sneak out another win we will be in a huge advantage but we all know that they are a great team and they didn't accomplish their records in the last four years by playing scared. I am happy with the split but hopping for the game tonight

Ice played a conservative game last night to put it politely. They can do alot better and if they are going to do this themselves and not depend upon Dakers for a \/\/, tonight is the night. Moving ahead 2 - 0 in the series has to be in the Ice sight lines, time to make a statement. Taking away the W last night with the Rockets late goal to tie the game, is going to bring out the best they have in the first ten minutes of the game, the Ice have to keep it close to the vest and then pick up their pace.

Ice weather a two man advantage early on, but Kelowna comes out roaring, with a goal to take the lead shortly afterwards. Meanwhile Kootenay come right back to tie it up 13 seconds later by Flatt. Just over halfway through the period the Rockets retake the lead with workman type goal. Ice take their third penalty of the game now with zero against the Rockets. Tiem to start getting the feet moving , or spend the entire night in our end getting penalty calls.

No one said it was going to be easy. The Rockets just going up 3-1 and get a pp goal. We need to get out of the box and get to our game. Whats up with the shots on goal in Kelowna. It sounds like they get multiple shots on goal for the same shot :skeptical acording to Jeff Holic I guess that helps Yeomans averages eh!

Rockets score on the PP and make it a 3 - 1 game, dominating play in the first period. While last night the Ice got away with play in their own end, tonight they had better begin to force the play or it is going to be a long night. Oh did I say the shots on net were 27 to 7, the shot clock official is preparing for a job on Olympic boxing, but still alot on Dakers just the same.

End of one, time to re-group and rev up the offence. No need to hold back now with the 1 - 0 lead in the series, we can afford to lose one, but lets change the momentum.

    2nd Period Highlights

Starting off the second where we left off the first period, with another penalty, now leading the game in penalties 5 - 0. Finally a holding call against the Rockets, time to make them pay for it and close the gap.

Some good pressure on the PP, but get yet another penalty just as the PP finished. We are following it up with a another penalty, making it a 1:29 2 man advantage, and from the sounds of it, a rather poor acting job, but got the call. If the Rockets collect the gift here, it is going to change the dynamics of this game, as the Ice should get a little more chippy. Sure enough, 4 - 1 Rockets. Time to adjust boys, lets make a statement for the games back in Cranbrook.

Well as the period comes to a close, it is almost imperitive that the Ice score in order to make the third period count. We got another PP to do exactly that, go Ice. A couple of roughing calls to each team may be the start of some series intensity.

Much better period 5 on 5, but way too many minutes in the box. Fight Ray and Baily, Baily takes it in a quick one seperated by the linesmen. A big hit on DaSilva after the period buzzer, started a scrum from which the fight broke out. Looks like the third period could be interesting.

Lost the net feed, just in time to listen to a short handed goal by the Rockets. Three kind of strange goals according to Holick on Dakers and the lead is now 5 - 1. Ice had a PP at the end of the 2nd, and then two more early on in the third without result.

Now that I am back on, the Rockets score and get antoher PP , wonder if this one is going to heat up or not. Not really the Ice style, but come playoff time, you have to set the tone for the following games. Kept the Rockets from making this a complete embarrassment, not that I find that a bad thing if you want to motivate for the next game. 51 shots on net, as the shot on net official has kept up his Oly boxing style shot counting. Cracknell gets a penalty for getting run at when he leans into him, but gets the elbow call, he isn't happy.

4th line PP unit now for the Rockets, second time they have been on the ice tonight. Holick seems to be blaming the refs from taking away a potentially good match that he could of watched. Penalty count 9 - 5, but the Ice PP were after the game was out of hand.

Game over, congratulations Rockets, a well deserved win taking advantage of what was.

Not a good game for the Ice but we got what we went there for and got the split. Lets go home regroup and see what we can do in the friendly home arena. I think our shot counters will have to work real hard to equal the padding shots and blind eye misses of others that the Rockets have done the past couple of games. According to Jeff Hollic anyway.

at least we got the split.

sounded like a few um.... well calls that our play by play didn't quite agree with.

Lets hope we have the momentum up for our home games!
    GO ICE GO !!!
