The Spokane Chiefs have released 19-year-old defenseman Phil Magistrale from their roster. The two-year veteran was acquired in January and appeared in 10 games in Spokane before suffering a season ending knee injury.

“With the depth that we have returning on defense and the addition of a few younger players we felt it was important to make the move at this time to give Phil an opportunity to catch on with another organization,” Chiefs Head Coach Bill Peters said.

Magistrale scored two goals and nine points last season has played in 58 games in two years between Tri-City and Spokane.
