Default Old Raiders rehash good times

Winning is what former Prince Albert Raiders remember the most about playing
    with the team.

And for Dallas Stars head coach Dave Tippett, it's no different.

"I remember winning," said Tippett, when asked of his favourite Raiders
memory. "Winning comes with very few teams and the commitment to winning
that this organization had was amazing. Winning makes great memories."

Tippett, along with 50 other current and former Raiders from across North
America, were able to reminisce and meet with old friends and teammates at
the second annual Raider Alumni Celebrity Dinner on Thursday night at the
Art Hauser Centre - better known to most of them as the Comuniplex.

"It's obvious that the Raiders are very special to me and I have some great
memories of Prince Albert," Tippett said while mingling with old teammates.
"It's my hometown and I don't get many opportunities to come back."

Tippett will also never forget former Raiders head coach Terry Simpson.

"I owe all my experiences to Terry Simpson, not only for the kind of coach I
am but the person I am," he said. "He got me on the path of winning and made
sure I had a commitment to it."

The money raised from the dinner will go toward the Raiders organization and
    minor hockey in the city.

Other guest speakers included former longtime WHL president and current
chairman of the board Ed Chynoweth and former NHL defenceman and Hall of
    Fame member Brad Park.

    Wall of Honour

The Prince Albert Raiders announced the first three inductees to the Wall of
Honour during the Raider Celebrity Alumni Dinner on Thursday at the Ches
    Leach Lounge.

The wall will be located near the Raider dressing room in the southeast
hallway of the Art Hauser Centre. An induction ceremony will take place
prior to a game during the 2006-07 season.

Reg Martsinkiw will be honoured as a builder. Martsinkiw was instrumental in
bringing a junior hockey franchise to Prince Albert and building the
Comuniplex, now the Art Hauser Centre. As Raider president, Martsinkiw also
brought a young coach from Shellbrook on board when he hired Terry Simpson.
Martsinkiw has continued to contribute to the Raiders throughout the years.

Two players will also be honoured on the wall, one from the Saskatchewan
Junior Hockey League era and one from the WHL years.

Alvin Moore was the first five-year Raider, playing from 1973-78. He was
named tournament all-star at the 1977 Centennial Cup. He finished with 164
goals and 238 assists in his Raiders career.

And Dan Hodgson led the Raiders to the Memorial Cup in 1985. He was named
MVP and and all-star at the Memorial Cup tournament in Quebec. Hodgson was
also on a world junior championship team. In three years in a Raiders
uniform, he posted 188 goals and 305 assists - both still club records.
