    Raiders selected with their 11th pick in the import draft they drafted center Lukas Zeliska from Trinec,Slovakia.

    Lukas is 6'0 175lbs and is a New York Rangers draft pick.

    Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - The Prince Albert Raiders are pleased to announce they have selected 18 year-old centre Lukas Zeliska with their first selection, 11th overall in the 2006 CHL Import Draft today. Zeliska was selected by the New York Rangers in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft Saturday in the 7th round, 204th overall.


    Zeliska is from Trinec, Slovakia and played last season with the Trinec Junior team scoring 12 goals and 4 assists in 36 games. He is 5'11", 176 pounds and shoots right. He played for Slovakia at the World Under 18 Championships scoring 1 goal and 1 assist.


    "All reports are that Lukas Zeliska is a real exciting player", said Donn Clark after the selection. "He is versatile and can play either centre or right wing."


    The Raiders also announce they have made a trade with the Calgary Hitmen today. The Raiders have acquired Calgary's first round selection in today's Import Draft, 57th overall, in exchange for an 8th round selection in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft.


    The CHL Import Draft will continue all day. The Raiders are slated to make their next selection at approximately 4:45 PM.

    undersized. clark says real exciting... didnt he say that about marcel uhleyla or however it was spelled ? at pick #11 was this really the best player they could get ???
    also whats with this trade with calgary ?

    The Raiders acquired Calgary's first round selection in today's Import Draft, 57th overall, in exchange for an 8th round selection in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft.It was Marcel Ulehla,and Clark canned him after 12 games.Not much of a chance.

    The Rangers' final selection is a native of Slovakia, but played his 2004-05 hockey in the Czech Republic. This past season, Zeliska, who can play either center or right wing, appeared in 36 games for Trinec of the Czech Junior League. During that time, he registered 16 points (12 goals, 4 assists) and 85 PIM. He also was selected to play for Slovakia in the U18 World Junior Championships, and in six games, he tallied 1 goal and 1 assist and 10 PIM.

    According to NHL Central Scouting, Zeliska is "[a] good skater with great fine top speed ... an effective stickhandler [with] soft hands and a fine selection of shots." He was recently drafted (11th overall) by the WHL Prince Albert Raiders in the 2006 CHL Import Draft and is expected to play for them during the 2006-07 season.
