Derek Claffey has committed to The Swift Current Broncos. Derek was at Bronco camp last year but returned home to decide whether to go college route or the C.H.L. After talking to his former team mate Paul Postma, Derek has now decided and signed with The Broncos. This kid is good and i would say even better than Paul.

Eagles Claffey Signs With Swift Current Broncos


Derek Claffey wore the Eagles jersey for one season as a sixteen year old, played in 54 games, received Rookie of the Year honors and now is graduating to the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League.

As a sixteen year old Claff missed only 6 games due to injury, this amount of playing time combined with his tremendous work ethic and genuine love for the game certainly enhanced his development while in Canmore. Pauls definitely better - Derek's good as well - Paul has more upside on offense - they will both be great for the Broncos this year, thats if the coach allows them to!
