Anyone hear how this is playing out? I know there was much controversy in him not wanting to sign with our club.

I havent heard much since the draft.

All I know is he is going to show up for Training Camp. I'm pretty sure that if he does play a pre-season game he loses his college eligibility (i think?). I hope this situation gets figured out even if it us trading him away.

Personally I'd dump him. you don't see too many "have to have" players coming from the D position at this level. Phaneuf is the only one that comes to mind for me.

And Neidermayer may have been the last 'superstar' defenseman to come out of the WHL before Phaneuf. And before that?!?!
