you know where I'll be spungy! I cant wait to get a bit of a hockey fix, especially with ALL alumni instead of current players mixed in that are here early for training camp ect. Should be a good turn out of old faces we havent seen in a while.

Plus the jerseys from all the players will be auctioned off during the game, and after the game you get to go downstairs and meet the players and they will hand you your new jersey right there.

I'm sure if you asked they would wash it for ya first though, LOL.

Cranbrook, BC – The Kootenay ICE Hockey Club is pleased to announce that the Kootenay ICE Alumni Weekend is set for August 18 and August 19, 2006. Events will be held at both the Cranbrook Rec Plex and the St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino.

The Alumni Weekend is the primary source of raising funds for the Kootenay ICE Players Education Fund. The Education Fund allows players, who do not play professionally, the opportunity to attend a Canadian university, college, technical or trade school with financial assistance from the Hockey Club. The Education Fund covers the cost of tuition and books, with one year of financial assistance for every year played in the Western Hockey League. Since the Alumni Weekend began, over $217,000.00 has been raised for the Education Fund. This past school year, 13 former players used the scholarship plan to assist in their post-secondary studies, with 80 players using the program since the ICE relocated to Cranbrook in 1998.

Players expected to participate in the Alumni Weekend include: Mike Green, Graham Belak, Dean Arsene, Jason Jaffray, Dan Blackburn, Nigel Dawes and Jeff Glass plus many more ICE Alumni who will play in the 4th Annual 4-on-4 Hockey Game.

    Schedule of Events

5:30 pm – 6:30 pm – Autograph Session (Cranbrook Rec Plex Concourse)

    7:00 pm – 4-on-4 Alumni Hockey Game

Once again I will have to miss the game as I have to go to Red Deer for a family Wedding. Also my father is in Calgary Hospital in critical condition recovering from a tear in his aortic wall so we need to be with him also. It seems every year there is something else I need to do and never get to go to the alumni game.
