The just of it is:

With him we have have 4 20 yr olds next year. without him we only have 3. Somebody had to go next year, and this trade provided an opportunity to solve that problem and potentially gain more back in the future.

We moved a forward to the back-end and it allowed 1 extra forward to dress every game, as we had 3 quality forwards sitting out each game. This deal also created lots of playing time for our 2 16 yr olds on the back-end, instead of getting their feet wet, their jumping into the shallow end so to say.

From what I've heard desjardin wasn't looking to move glass, but when spokane offered a 2nd, and a 3rd he had to consider it.

Yes the trade hurts us a bit in the short run, but Desjardin is confident his scouts are able to use those picks and produce 2 quality players out of the deal. Some tiger fans still dont like the deal. It is a risk to make the tiger better in the future. Whether that risk pans out or not, we will have to wait and see until those picks comes to fruition.
