Default Riege to Moose Jaw for a third rounder

    Here's the interesting part:

“The first is to ensure we have a capable player or players who can compete and fulfill the third and fourth line role Brad provided to us. The second goal is to give Brad an opportunity at a fresh start. We had a couple of incidents we believed compromised our program and this should send a clear message to the athletes in camp we are focused on discipline and improving our team through our habits.”

Hurricanes Trade Riege to Moose Jaw
Lethbridge, AB – Lethbridge Hurricanes General Manager Roy Stasiuk announced today the team has traded sop****re forward Brad Riege to the Moose Jaw Warriors for a third round draft pick in 2007.

“With the emergence of some right wingers in our training camp, we believe we can accomplish a couple of goals,” Stasiuk said.

Riege, a product of Stoughton, Sask. , was the Hurricanes’ second pick in the 2004 draft, 26th overall. In 59 games with the Hurricanes last season, Riege had three goals and three assists for six points with 49 minutes in penalties. He also played in six playoff games with the ‘Canes last season without recording a point.
