I have never liked this series, in the past there is no bragging rights to beating Russia B teams, i would rather see players who r elgibile to play for team canada in each league play against each other a team WHL,team OHL, team QMJHL. Like how they used to play the All-Star games between the 3 leagues, those were good games.

And they got heated also, your playing for your league, I remember Steve Ott (on team OHL now with Dallas Stars) threw a nasty elbow on Matt Hubbuer (on team WHL as Matt scored 48goals that season) not to mention the fights it was just better hockey then this stupid Russia series, I feel sorry for the past Russia teams paying all-star teams out here with the Russians bring a B team at best maybe even a C team and getting it handed too them, the only games the Russians were able to compete in were the games against the QMJHL as there not as physical games and they are fresh when those games area played.

Lets see how the Russians do against team OHL that the Russians have played 2 games already.

What I would like to see is the WHL, OHL and QMJHL champs from the previous year play the Russian team.

I think that would be more interesting. And as I write this watching Russia vs. OHL at 9:47PM vancouver time (replayed) it is 4-0 Canada late stages of the 3rd period. It just isn't even close. The Russians have brought nothing

All this is, is a tool for the Canadian WJC executives to choose players from the 3 leauges.

Exactly, that's what I've wanted for a long time. To have the CHL vs the Russian selects.

Well I guess that's pretty much the same thing as team Canada vs Team Russia in the WJ's but the Russians are better so scratch that lol.

This series sucks plain and simple.

Go to a WHL all-star game, East vs. West.

Rotate the game between the Conferences, and make it a 2-3 day affair with a skills competition etc.

It would be more entertaining, and worth paying attention to. Have it televised by Shaw, and put it up for free on the internet broadcast for those that don't get shaw.

Could still be used as a tool for the WJC, but we would also get to see all the top players in the WHL play against each other, not just the Canadian players.
