It has been in all the PG papers that regardless of how the Cougars do ..all they want to do is sweep the Tips.. nothing else is important. They traded away their future for Setagutchi so he'll score 4 goals every time he plays the Tips....just giving you an inside scoup...NOT...lol

    Default Game postponed

    Zamboni mishap ices Tips' game

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - The Everett Silvertips' longest road trip of the season opened up by being put on hold.

Everett's game against the Prince George Cougars on Saturday night was postponed after two periods because of damaged ice at the CN Centre.

Everett trailed 2-1 after two periods when, while resurfacing the ice during the second intermission, the zamboni scraped the surface behind the Silvertips goal all the way down to the advertisement underneath.

After spending more than an hour working on repairing the damage, the officials decided to cancel the remainder of the game because of unsafe playing conditions.

The game is scheduled to be completed when Everett returns to Prince George, which doesn't happen until Feb. 27. The specifics of how the game will be completed with relation to the Feb. 27 game were not determined.

Saturday's game was the first of Everett's seven-game, 17-day road trip, which includes a swing through the WHL's East Division.

Everett got a dream start, taking the lead with a power-play goal 8 minutes, 11 seconds into the game. The Tips kept the puck in the offensive zone, and Kyle Beach found Zach Hamill with a nice pass. Hamill put the puck past a sprawling Prince George goaltender Real Cyr to make it 1-0.

However, Everett's advantage was short-lived as Prince George responded with two goals within three minutes. First, at 9:27, Devin Setoguchi found a loose puck out front and beat Everett goaltender Leland Irving with a shot to tie it up. Then at 11:39 with a Cougars five-on-three power play just expiring, Ty Wishart's shot from the point was tipped past Irving by Eric Hunter, giving Prince George a 2-1 lead.

The score remained 2-1 through the second period. The best opportunity fell to Everett, which had more than a minute of five-on-three power-play time, but was unable to convert.

Everett was outshooting Prince George 18-6 at the time of the postponement.
