Maybe Moon's right. Maybe the Canes should have kept Ashton, after all, look what he's done for Regina. That team is contending for a championship. Or, they could have dealt him for Taylor Hall, Patrice Cormier and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
Oh wait, this team had NOTHING at the beginning of the year but a mess. The front-office circus of the past two years was embarrassing at every turn and, we were going to suck no matter what. Our young players (Fyten, Braes, Orfino, Yadlowski, Ryckman) moved backwards from one year to the next thanks to the whole situation. At least now, there is a sliver of hope for the future. But hey, don't you all long for the days when we dealt away the future to remain mediocre from year to year?
Preston doesn't bear the scars of last year's regime or the board's short-sightedness. Give him a chance. He knows more than Moon. Unless Moon has made a living for 35 years in the game?
