    Default WHL Draft

I can only hope and pray that when I wake up tomorrow, Robson has not traded away our 2nd overall pick in the 1st round for a 20 year old washed up goalie and the 17th pick! Rest easy you say, that would never happen. Ya right.
An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

Shout out to Jordan Bellerive, welcome to Lethbridge, we are very proud to have you join our hockey team!!!

Good choice, now hopefully the management/coaching staff doesn't screw him up, so that he wants out. It sucks seeing other players on your team have so much potential and then having it squandered.

Good on the GM for having the balls to actually make the pick and draft Bellerive! It is one thing to draft players like this and quite another to actually get them to sign? All things considered, it will be a monumental task to get this franchise back on the rails this coming season, as clearly it would seem that Robison and the WHL have now thrown down the gauntlet having publicly stated that the management/leadership within the hockey operations must be significantly better for this franchise to be able to compete and show sustainable income within this league. Goaltending is a major concern moving forward as Skinner will get swallowed up as a starter next season, so we need a solid and seasoned 20 goalie next year to play the lion share of games and mentor the young Skinner, also there will likely be a few defections? Was kind of surprised that there were not one or two meaningful trades on draft day as this team needs help now heading into the fall training camp...there is a mountain of work to be done over this summer and that is likely an understatement!

    How about Curtis Honey?
Never argue with idiots, they just drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Don't know much about him? Read somewhere that him and his twin brother (Seattle I think?) battled some concussion issues last season? Don't know if there is anyone on the Canes roster that WK's would be interested in trading for? The Canes need a significant upgrade in the goaltending department and also in the forward department and the probability of more defections is likely real? Don't think the Canes have anything to offer that would be a worth while upgrade over anything the WK's already have, maybe Erkamps but at -62 last season, doubt he would be a good fit in Brandon...

It's a great story. But can't see this happening anytime soon in to the Canes. The problem here is the community team. Until it's sold with an owner that has the invested interest to develop the players, find the right coaching etc, nothing will change.

And I can't see the WHL stepping in until at least the end of next season with regards to a sale, change of board. Will be interesting to see how many more players jump ship before everything sinks!

One thing that Robison made very clear at his City Hall diatribe, in fact he said it twice, that it was the shareholders who will make the decision as to any consideration for sale. The league may step in and propose a sale to the shareholders or the shareholders can do it on their own. Either way it requires a shareholders vote. Can't see the dub wanting to mock the law.

I sure hope the W has a sale for the shareholders to vote on. Hard to know what the board is hiding from its shareholders? Wonder if the board can decide whether or not to propose a potential sale or if the W would send out info direct to shareholders?
