I have to say that the Canucks snubs of local WHL teams is getting pretty tiring. They go off the boards for an unranked Q player in the second round and Martinook gets picked up a player later by Phoenix.

from Vancouver Giants offical site:

Martinook Selected by the Phoenix Coyotes

Center Jordan Martinook has become the first Giant selected in the 2012 NHL Draft. The native of Leduc, Alberta, has been chosen in the 2nd Round, 58th overall, by the Phoenix Coyotes. Martinook enjoyed a break-out season in 2011/12, his second with the Giants, registering 40 goals and 24 assists. He joined the Giants as a list player prior to the 2010/11 season, and joins the likes of Cody Franson, Spencer Machacek and Milan Lucic, as Giants list players who have gone on to become NHL Draft Picks.

Kulak Selected by the Calgary Flames

Defenceman Brett Kulak is the second Giant to be chosen in today's NHL Draft. The native of Stony Plain, Alberta, was selected 105th overall in the 4th Round by the Calgary Flames. Kulak tallied 9 goals, 15 assists, and a team-best +29 rating in 2011/12, appearing in all 72 regular season games. Originally a 9th Round Bantam Draft selection of the Giants (2009), he becomes the third Giant in team history to be selected by the Flames, joining the likes of J.D. Watt in 2005 and Lance Bouma in 2008.
