    Excellent!
Maybe he was the best in the Bargain Bin.
Let's not jump of that bridge yet.

Success in minor pro/NHL doesn't always translate to success at the junior level, or vice versa. Giving a young coach a shot in junior, rather than going with a coach that is already proven to be below average at the junior level at numerous teams (Like PA) seems like an ok move. At least they are trying a different formula.

By my count he had over 60 players go through the system this past year, including 8 goaltenders. I am no coach by any means, so someone tell me if it isn't a bit difficult to get systems in place with that much change throughout the year.

Personally I am excited that he is " younger", has NHL experience and is a former defenceman. Hopefully whoever they get for an assistant coach has similar chops and is offensive minded.

Looking forward to some fresh direction behind the bench, and think it's gonna be a long couple of months before puck drop.

    Default New Sources

Romuld needs new sources. He was spouting about a month and half ago that some group was making an offer to buy the club within the following week. McNaughton called bull s--t on him. Take Romuld's sources with a grain of salt. Trying to be first in the twitter world.

Yes those sound like uneducated excuses on what happened in Orlando...

"blaming captains for their road record"... the ECHL has a brutal road schedule, bussing to and from all corners of North America, no surprise there on the road record.

"not teaching guys how to get rebound shots"... this isn't basketball, I doubt any ECHL team would be great at "rebounds".

Orlando also announced yesterday that Berehowsky won't be returning this fall...

And blacksheep is right... 6 weeks later there is still no further news or formal announcement about a group putting in an offer. Whoever this group is... rememeber that the Board isn't selling, so deal with it.

Either way, we will find out the truth at the Canes upcoming press conference... Monday at 10am.

As a fan, the hiring of DB seems very underwehlming. 50 resumes were in front of Robson and this was the choice? As a fan, I will get on board as always but come on. This smells like the Fraser River at low tide.
My next wish is for three assistants.

Pat S reported Robson got over 80 applicants, I sure hope for everyone in the organization that this was the right choice, time will tell. At least Robson didn't name one of his son's as the Head Coach.

I hope you are correct. I am going to be as positive as I can be (even though I have a ton of questions) and see how this works out. I am glad we went with someone other than the recycled old boys club though for sure. Is Berehowsky the right guy? Who knows eh.
An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

    Default Accountability

Accountability is an interesting word isn't it?
It's one of those recent buzzwords in the business world.
If the Hurricanes fail to make the playoffs this season does anyone really believe that that accountability word will be brought up by those that are mentioning it right now?
Would Robson or Berehowsky volunteer to vacant their positions without further pay? Honestly, that would be 'accountability' wouldn't it?
We all know that 'accountability', structure, and systems are all bull****. It's all a song and dance.
No one really believes DB was the first choice as Robson says do we? Does anyone think finances didn't play into a decision?
The whole press conference in Lethbridge and up North in Edmonton with Eakins really turns my stomach. The more things change the more they stay the same. Anyone think that the issues are higher up? Maybe the board in Leth and Lowe in Edmonton? Nope, they all get a free pass and a restart every two or three years with these smoke and mirrors press conference. The fan just has to 'get on board' or else be labeled a bad fan.
I'll go watch as a fan of hockey but that's about it. See you all at the next press conference in another two or three years or maybe in another year when DB says he wants to spend more time with his wife and six kids after a winter of two week long bus trips.
The best part of the media talking to DB was when he said he would be trading in a pool for a back yard rink. ahhhaha, he does know the Lethbridge climate doesn't he? Lots of back yard rinks in Chinook Country.
